Our Story

Redimiendo el tiempo, porque los días son malos. Efesios 5:16 · Reina-Valera 1909

Paul wrote that line to a young church in a busy port city. He did not tell them to manage their time, or to save it. He told them to redeem it. The word comes from the marketplace: to buy something back, at a cost, because it is worth having.

REDIMO began with a plain question. If you look at your wrist forty times a day, what do you read there?

A watch tells you the hour. It can also tell you whose hour it is.

Most watches say a brand name. We wanted one that says something worth reading every time you check the hour. So every REDIMO model is built around a single verse. A cross or the model's symbol sits at twelve. The reference sits at six. The same reference is engraved in the steel of the caseback, against your skin, where only you know it is there.

One verse is on purpose. A page of Scripture on a dial would be decoration. One verse is something you can keep.

Spanish first, because that is how many of us learned it

The models have Spanish names: León de Judá, Sobre las Aguas, Para Esta Hora, Mar Adentro. For many of us, these are the words we heard first, at a kitchen table or in a small church with folding chairs. Faith has an accent, and we did not want to translate it away.

Every verse is given in Spanish from the Reina-Valera 1909 and in English from the King James Version. Both are in the public domain, and both have been read aloud for generations.

What we make

Four lines, built on the same idea and the same steel.

Clásico. The dress watch. A 40 mm case with a fluted bezel, a sunray dial and a link bracelet. The line the house began with.
Mar. Diver-style watches, some with a 24-hour hand. 40 mm, a rotating bezel, 10 ATM water resistance, on steel or black rubber. For work, travel and the water.
Para Ella. The same steel and the same Scripture at 31 mm, with verses from Proverbs, Esther and Ruth among them.
Relieve. A slim case with an integrated bracelet and the symbol pressed into the dial: the fish, the crown of thorns.

Every one of them shares the rest:

316L stainless steel cases and solid bracelet links.
Japanese quartz movements. Accurate, quiet and dependable. A daily watch should be right every time you look at it.
Engraved casebacks. The verse reference is cut into the steel, not printed on it.
One verse reference at six, in Spanish, under a cross or the model's symbol at twelve.

What we do not do

We do not put a countdown clock on the page. We do not say a batch is almost gone when it is not. We do not invent a discount from a price nobody paid. We sell by pre-sale because that is how a small house can build a good watch at this price, and we tell you the date we expect to ship it. If the date moves, you hear it from us first.

Better to earn a customer slowly than to win one with a trick. It seems the least we can do with Scripture on the dial.

For the one who wears it, and the one who gives it

Some of these watches will be bought by the person who wears them. Many will be gifts: to a father, a wife, a son leaving home, a pastor who never buys anything for himself. Put two in the cart and $20 comes off the order, because many will be bought in pairs: one to keep, one to give. Either way, the idea is the same. The day will be loud. The verse will be there when you look down.
